US jobless claims declined by 12,000 to 214,000 from 226,000 last week
Official Unemployment rate stands at 3.5%
The feds can count unemployment 7 ways: U1, U2, U3, U4, U5, U6 and the labor participation rate (think ‘there are lies, lies and damned statistics’). The current labor participation rate is 62.3% working and 37.7% of Americans 16-65 are not currently working, unemployed.
The real unemployment figure for the US is 37.7% in September 2022.
