Slack went down on Wednesday, Feb. 26, for some of the tens of millions of users who reportedly use it to communicate at work.
Issues with the instant messaging and video platform were first discovered about 10:30 a.m. EST, the company said, acknowledging "reports of trouble connecting or loading Slack."
The extent of the problem was unclear. But an hour later, Slack shared in an update that its work continued to restore full functionality, including the ability to send messages and log in.
Other features of the platform appeared to still work — like viewing existing messages and files.

"Thank you for your continued patience as we continue investigating," the company said in its latest update. "We'll be following up with further updates as they become available."
First launched in 2014, Slack has become increasingly popular for companies to use as an employee communication tool, both to send messages and hold virtual meetings.
