Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Colorado Springs Tuesday afternoon

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued in Colorado Springs through 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
According to the Weather Service, residents should expect stormy weather throughout the day. A 70% chance of thunderstorms is in the forecast for the Pikes Peak region Tuesday, alongside gusty conditions and a high of 82 degrees.
At 2:48 p.m., the Weather Service reported a severe thunderstorm was located just southwest of Fountain, or 15 miles south of Colorado Springs, moving northeast at 40 mph.
This radar detected storm could include 70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. Damage is likely to trees, mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings.
